We have an urgent need for physicians at our regional health center on the beautiful island of Saipan.

THE SUITABLE CANDIDATE

· US Board certified or Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians from Canada in area of Specialty.
· Holding a current active license in the USA or Canada

THE HOSPITAL

A 75 bed modern well equipped hospital serving the island of Saipan and the neighbouring islands of Rota and Tinian, a total population of 80,000. Although part of the US but not offering J1 waivers. Fully staffed with 44 specialist physicians.

Hospital has a 4 bed ICU, NICU and a Dialysis Unit for 100 renal failure patients plus state of the art diagnostic facilities.

LIVING CONDITIONS

The cost of living is like Hawaii. Most goods are easily available including fresh perishables. A Hyatt Hotel and Costco are on the island with six gorgeous golf courses, tennis courts, racket ball courts, beaches, caving facilities, diving facilities, snorkeling .. .. and the list seems endless …. !

Easily accessible with Northwest via Japan or Continental via Guam. Asian traveler's dream being only a few hours from Australia, Japan, Bali, Korea, Hong Kong and Manila. A large young and friendly expatriate community makes this recreational paradise the envy of the Pacific and many return here after trying other parts of the world. Gorgeous weather; never over 95 F or less than 75 F.

Area: 457 sq km (176.5 sq miles).

GEOGRAPHY: Located to the south of Japan and to the north of Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands comprise 14 islands, the main ones being Saipan, Tinian and Rota. The group is compact, consisting of a single chain 736km (460 miles) long. The islands have high volcanic cones.

Government: Self-governing US Commonwealth Territory (incorporated). Gained internal autonomy in 1986.
Head of State: President George W Bush since 2000. Head of Government: Governor Juan Babauta since 2001.

Language: English, Chamorro and Carolinian are the official languages. Japanese, Tagalig and Korean are widely spoken.

Religion: Mostly Roman Catholic.
